Traditional Valentine’s Day celebration means heading out to a fancy restaurant for dinner or taking a trip to a nice destination with your loved one. However, if you prefer something quiet at home and away from the hustle and bustle of Valentine’s celebrations, I have just the right Valentine’s meal ideas for you. These meals are scrumptious, best suited for Valentine’s dinner, and perfect for two love birds. And the good news is most of them are super easy to make and there’s nothing better than a home-cooked Valentine’s meal.
Sausage and Cheese Rigatoni
I am a big fan of Italian cuisine. I see so many digital resumes these days uploaded with Italian cuisine expertise. So, I thought why not begin with an Italian meal. In fact, it is very easy to cook and it will surely win the heart of your beloved. After all, we all know that a way to a man’s heart is food. Also, you don’t have to do anything extra to make the dish perfect. All you need is a salad and a homemade garlic bread to go alongside the main dish. The dish bakes for half an hour in the oven and you can prepare the salad and the garlic bread while the main dish is heating up in the oven.
To make sausage and cheese rigatoni you will first need to brown the sausage in a medium-sized saucepan along with fennel seeds. Then put some onion in the pan and stir the onion until it’s tender. Next, add some roasted red pepper, the marinara sauce until the mixture is fully cooked and warmed thoroughly. Now, take a separate bowl, add ricotta, parsley, and parmesan to it. Stir the mixture well and then take your large baking dish out, add a spoon full, dollop half the ricotta on the top and then repeat the same process. Eventually, end the cooking process by baking the sausage rigatoni until it is golden from the top and the cheese pops up in bubbles.
Baked Chicken and Mushroom Risotto
Another delicious meal that goes best with fresh bread rolls and a nice touch of salad. It will only take you an hour to prepare this dish and the dish. However, it’s Valentine’s and you might be wondering who will waste time making a risotto. After all, cooking traditional risotto can be a real hassle. That’s why we are here to help you cook this recipe with the help of an oven with minimal stirring and no hassle.
First and foremost you have to preheat the oven to 350-degree Fahrenheit. Then take a pan and add onion, garlic, mushrooms, and rice to it. Stir the mixture properly and add some water to it. Next, place the pan in the oven, don’t cover it, and cook it until the liquid is completely absorbed. In my personal opinion, it should not take you more than 30 minutes to cook the mixture. When the rice is tender and ready, remove the pan from the oven, and move to the next step. The next step is to stir parmesan and butter in hot water. Don’t forget to stir the mixture vigorously. It will help you achieve the perfect consistency. In the end, add the prepared mixtures to chicken broth, season it with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.
Slow Cooker Cornish Hens
This dish is really simple to cook and a perfect fit for two. To prepare the dish you need two cornish hens, peeled potatoes, sliced onion, green beans, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, paprika, thyme, oregano, cayenne, and pepper. After you have gathered all the ingredients, take a slow cooker and start preparing the dish. Add potatoes, green beans, and onion to the slow cooker. You can even add other vegetables, especially the ones that you really like to eat. Next, place the cornish hens on the top, sprinkle the blend of spices over the entire dish and then cook cornish hens for 3 to four hours. You can fasten the process of cooking by cooking in high heat or by pre-cooking the cornish hens a day before Valentine’s Day. After all, you also need time to get ready.
Deep Dish Pizza
This recipe cooks perfectly in an oval 6-8 quart slow cooker. Start by rolling the dough on the parchment paper. Then stretch the dough into an oval shape and sprinkle cornmeal on both sides of the crust. Next, put some butter and onions in a saute pan. Saute it for 2-3 minutes and add some garlic to it. You can saute the mixture for another 2 minutes. Follow the sauteing by adding crushed tomatoes, sugar, Italian seasoning, and salt to the pan. Let the entire mixture cook for 5 minutes.
While the mixture is heating, take a skillet, cook the pork sausage and then get ready to prepare the pizza. Add all the prepared items to the layer of the dough one by one. Start with cheese, then add crumbled sausage followed by tomato sauce. The pizza is ready to be cooked. However, remember to cook the pizza for at least 2-4 hours. In case, you have less time on your hands, use a preheated oven and cook the pizza for almost 30 minutes.
